5 Things You Should Know Before Buying A CBD Vape

The information provided regarding CBD is for educational purposes only and should not be construed as medical advice. CBD products have not been evaluated by regulatory authorities for the treatment, diagnosis, or prevention of any disease. Always consult with a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new supplement or health regimen to ensure it is safe and appropriate for your specific medical conditions.

CBD is a popular compound that can be vaped, eaten, drank, or used topically. It comes in different strengths and forms, and can help to alleviate a range of medical problems including anxiety, insomnia and chronic pain. Before trying CBD, there are some things you need to know. After all, no two CBD products are the same and with such a saturated market, you want to make sure you are selecting the best CBD for you.

They come in different strengths

In the same way that nicotine vapes are available in varying strengths, CBD can come in a huge variety of potencies. You can vape as little as 100mg of CBD, all the way up to CBD in its thousands. So the question is, how much does the dose matter? Well, it really depends what you are using CBD for. One study shows that to treat anxiety, you should have around 300-600mg of CBD products. Another study suggested a lower dose than this is needed for sleep disorders, and a higher dose of over 600 mg will be needed to treat the symptoms of psychosis. In essence, there is no one set dose because CBD works for different conditions, and interacts with everyone’s body chemistry differently.

As a general rule of thumb, you should start with a lower dose and increase the dose over time. At first, you may not notice any difference to how you feel, but as your body adjusts to the dosage, and as you increase it to meet your needs, you’ll begin to feel the effects. If you are not sure which dose to choose, select a range of 2 or 3 different doses. For example, you could opt for both a 250mg vape and also a 800mg. Start on the lower dose vape and then increase.

They’re legal, but not everywhere

CBD is legal to use in the UK and the United States. In fact, it is legal throughout most of the world including Hong Kong, Turkey, New Zealand, India, Thailand and Japan. But you should know two things. Firstly, some countries have legalised this substance with particular parameters. For example, in Hong Kong, CBD is legal or personal use but it cannot be exported. In South Korea it is only allowed for specific medical purposes. And some countries do not specify the legality clearly at all, including Turkey and Egypt. The amount of THC in your product also matters as some countries have a strict zero tolerance policy on this substance. The second thing you should know is that in some countries, even with zero THC, CBD is completely illegal and subject to punishment. A recent example is a British man who was arrested and imprisoned in Dubai for having CBD in his possession. It is therefore critical to check the laws in advance of any travel. If you are unsure, please do not travel with CBD or leave your CBD at home and purchase more CBD upon arrival in your destination. Remember as well that the UK allows you to use CBD as long as it has less than 0.2% THC, and you can only be sure of this dosage if your CBD kit comes with a third party lab testing certificate from a reputable brand.

They may not taste the same as regular vapes

When you vape a vape kit that has no CBD and no nicotine (a 0mg vape) all you can taste is the added flavour found in the e-liquid. When you start adding nicotine or CBD, a new flavour is added. CBD has its own unique taste. Especially broad spectrum CBD which we will come on to in the next point. CBD can contain terpenes, which are compounds found in the hemp plant (as well as many other plants). Terpenes taste unique and very potent. To give you an example, thyme and rosemary contain terpenes and it is these terpenes that give those herbs their unique strong flavour. Some people love this taste, others find it unpleasant. So, you can either choose to vape a purely flavoured CBD or choose a flavour that will properly disguise the CBD flavour.

There is different types of CBD

CBD comes in different forms. The first form is CBD isolate. CBD isolate is pure CBD - the only hemp compound you will find in your vape kit. This is the most affordable way to use CBD and is very effective. However some people prefer to vape full spectrum CBD, which means more compounds from the plant are included, THC being one of them. When you combine these compounds, you experience something called the ‘entourage effect’. This means the compounds work in harmony together to create a highly therapeutic dose. Broad spectrum CBD tends to be more expensive than CBD isolate simply because it contains so much more of the plant. But, it is also brilliant for chronic health problems like pain, sleep disorders and psychiatric illness. When choosing your CBD, consider why you are using it, how much you can afford to spend, and please also take note of the THC content in any broad spectrum product.

Not all brands are trustworthy

CBD took the world by storm a decade ago and many brands are quick to enter the market. Some brands, such as those offered at JM Distro, are extremely reputable and safe. They have been sourcing and making CBD products for years, and put all their products through thorough testing, providing a CBD lab report at the end. Other brands - especially those without lab reports - might not be as safe.

If you are spending your hard earned cash on CBD, you want to make sure that your CBD is real. You want to ensure it is free from pesticides or contaminants, and that it contains safe and legal amounts of THC. If you are ever unsure, simply make sure you use a well known distributor such as JM Distro, who will have hand picked the best brands on your behalf.
