There is no set list of smoking accessories you will need, as every smoker is different. But many smokers find that they require rolling equipment, such as a rolling mat and filter tips, a grinder, tobacco storage containers and an ashtray. There are, of course, many other more sophisticated and complex smoking accessories available to more advanced smokers such as bongs, vaporizers, scales, cones and much more.
We have a wide range of smoking accessories spanning many reputable and safe brands. Some of these brands include Kenex, Nectar, Clipper, Hiit, Cali Cones, Splyft and Jadebird.
A grinder is a staple piece in any smoker’s accessory drawer. You can choose from several types including a plastic grinder (great for occasional use), which is affordable and easy to use. You can also get a metal grinder which is more of a collectable item, longer lasting, but slightly more expensive. And if you don’t want the manual labour, an electric grinder, which will grind your tobacco and CBD products without any effort required.
A vaporizer is a way of using tobacco and CBD products in a safer way than smoking them. When you smoke, you inhale many harsh chemicals that are created when burning the tobacco. But vaporizers remove many of these chemicals, creating a vapour from the tobacco or CBD for you to inhale. A vaporizer is a great smoking accessory for those looking to smoke without the high health risks.
There is a wide range of scales available to buy at JM Distro. This popular smoking accessory gives you the ability to weigh and measure your smoking products properly. You might be happy with a no-fuss basic scale, featuring a digital screen, plastic weighing platform and good accuracy. Or you may wish to try something more advanced, with features such as a counting function and various weighing modes. If you wish to travel with your scale it’ll need to be small, compact and portable. You should also consider the maximum weighing potential it can hold.
A nicotine pouch is a smoking accessory in the form of an oral pouch that sits within the mouth. The pouch comes in a variety of different flavours and nicotine strengths. It slowly releases nicotine into your body and is ideal for anyone who is facing a prolonged period without nicotine (such as a smoker going on a long haul flight). It’s also an effective way to cut down on cigarettes. At JM Distro we stock a range of nicotine pouches to suit everyone.

You need a lighter. But which one? Lighters are a staple product in any smoker's personal supply. You can choose a disposable lighter (the type you throw away) or a refillable lighter (the type you refill with lighter fluid). Refillable lighters are great for those who appreciate longevity. Disposable lighters are better for people who often find themselves misplacing their lighter or who don’t care too much about collecting them, or don’t want the hassle of refilling them.
There is no shortage of lighter companies out there, but Clipper is by far the most well known - and for good reason. Clipper offers safe, reliable, lighters in a variety of colours and shapes. There are many different options to choose from including some highly collectable and niche designs.
Grinders are also a staple product for anyone who uses tobacco or CBD products. You use a grinder to get your tobacco or CBD to a desired consistency before smoking. It is especially popular amongst those who smoke buds / flowers, to grind them into a smokable state. Grinders come in a variety of fun designs and materials. Plastic is a standard material used for grinders but you can also get heavy duty metal grinders engraved in a variety of ways. You can also get electric grinders.
Bongs allow you to smoke in a whole new way. They come in all shapes and sizes. They have a small bowl that holds dried plant / tobacco, which is then lit using a lighter. The bong has water at the bottom of it, in which the smoke then passes through. The smoke rises up through the bong into your mouth at the mouthpiece. It allows for a smoother smoking experience, and the water eliminates the dry heat caused by burning the herbs or tobacco.
Bongs are legal to buy and use and are often the preferred way of smoking. Some people wish to have a basic bong, which is as described above. More advanced bong smokers prefer a bong with multiple chambers and crooked shapes. We have a huge variety of bongs for you to browse here.
Tips and roaches are a staple smoking accessory to help build a roll-up or joint. Rizla is probably the best known brand for this activity, providing good quality rolling papers, roaches and tips for smokers for decades. Swan tips are also incredibly popular and always in demand, as well as Hornet.
Keeping your bong clean is fundamental to its longevity as well as the overall smoking experience. A dirty bong is not only unhygienic and can cause you physical illness, but wil reduce the quality of your smoking experience. If you do not regularly clean your bong then you can reduce the taste and functioning of the bong. We recommend you clean your bong regularly but it will depend on how often you use it. If you use your bong multiple times a day then we would recommend cleaning it at least once a week. If you only use your bong occasionally then you can wait longer. If you see any build up within the bong, or can see where the old water has been, this is a sign that it needs to be cleaned. Also, if your bong tastes different, and you cannot taste your tobacco or herb product in the same way you normally do, then this is also a sign of dirt and build up.
So, keeping your bong clean is essential. A dirty bong could mean replacing your bong more regularly, which is something to be avoided.
Here is what you need to do.
Items needed for effective cleaning
Step 1
Separate the bowl from the stem. The stem is the part where you place your herb or tobacco. This will make the cleaning process easier.
Step 2
Pour out the old water. Bong water can be thicker than normal water, as it is resinous, so avoid pouring it down the drain. Pour it into your garden or outdoor waste instead. Just don’t try to water your plants with it.
Step 3
Place the bong in a large bag preferably with a zip top. It should be large enough to contain the whole bong and not have any holes in it.
Step 4
Add the isopropyl alcohol or alternative to the inside of the bong so that it reaches about half way up the bong. Allow it to soak.
Step 5
Add salt to the bong as this will help to create friction, to remove any grit or build up on the side of your bong.
Step 6
Close the top of the large bag and give the whole bong a shake. This will help to contain any of the alcohol and salt, without making a mess on your kitchen floor.
Step 7
Soak for an additional 30 minutes or more.
Step 8
Remove the bong from the bag and rinse it in warm soapy water. This will remove any alcohol or vinegar and salt. It will also remove any more dirt and bacteria.
Step 9
Rinse well with hot water.
Cleaning and maintaining your shisha pipe is by far the best way to keep it in good working order for longer. When smoking shisha you want to be able to achieve a smooth consistency and taste each time, without tasting old residue and build up from previous smoking sessions. There are many different parts to a shisha pipe so each needs to be cleaned individually in and in a specific way. A standard shisha pipe will contain a vase, a stem, a bowl and hoses. The shisha should come apart easily for cleaning. Failing to keep it clean can be unhygienic and unpleasant with regards to taste. If you change your flavours regularly you might be able to taste previous smoking sessions without regular cleaning. The frequency of cleaning depends on the frequency of use. But remember, the more frequently you clean your pipes, the quicker and easier the cleaning process is as you won’t have as much residue and dirt to get rid of.
Here’s how to keep your shisha pipe clean.
What you need:
Cleaning the stem.
Start by running some warm soapy water through the stem of the shisha pipe. If you have a shisha cleaning brush, you can insert this into the step to remove the excess build up. If not you can use a pipe cleaning brush. Then rinse again and air dry.
Cleaning your shisha vase.
Empty any excess water from the vase. Then use a soft sponge and warm soapy water to clean the inside of the vase. Be careful not to use water that is too cold or too hot, as this can damage the material. If the vase is particularly dirty you can add some white vinegar to it.
Cleaning your Shisha Hoses.
The way you clean your hose depends on the type of shisha pipe you have. If you have a traditional pipe with traditional hoses (made with leather and a metal boil) then this cannot be cleaned without causing damage. If you have a more modern shisha with silicon and soft touch hoses, you can safely run warm water through them and let them drip dry.
How to clean your bowl.
The first step is to remove the foil or HMD and shisha flavour from the bowl. Boil some water in a bowl (such as placing it over a stove) and then place the bowl into the water, allowing the water to run into the bowl. Let it sit in the warm water for 20 minutes. Do not keep the water boiling throughout this time. Then remove and air dry facing down.
Leave your shisha pipe to dry overnight and ensure all the soap is removed before using it for your next smoking session.
We have a large range of shishas available at Jm Distro, all of which are easy to clean and maintain. We only source shishas made of the highest possible quality.
